Bumpstocks Banned, AR-15s Next?

America: TURN THEM IN!

On Tuesday, December 18, 2018, the Trump administration and the ATF paved the way toward total confiscation of all firearms in America by issuing an executive fiat to ban bumpstocks.

Just like that, with the stroke of a pen, your gun rights were crushed.

As Gun Owners of America have correctly said, this has opened the door for a complete ban and confiscation of AR-15s.

According to the Washington Post, “The Trump administration Tuesday banned bump stocks, the firearm attachments that allow semi-automatic weapons to fire like machine guns (sic) and were used during the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

“The regulation gives gun owners until late March to turn in or destroy the devices. After that, it will be illegal to possess them under the same federal laws that prohibit machine guns.”

The story warns that the ATF will “take action against” gun owners who refuse to turn in their private property for destruction.

According to the ATF, “On December 18, 2018, Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker announced that the Department of Justice has amended the regulations of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), clarifying that bump stocks fall within the definition of “machinegun” under federal law, as such devices allow a shooter of a semiautomatic firearm to initiate a continuous firing cycle with a single pull of the trigger.”

Despite this almost unbelievable in-your-face tyranny and federal decree for nationwide gun confiscation, the NRA was eerily quiet after the pronouncement.

However, before the decision, the NRA released this statement calling on the ATF to impose the new gun control dictate:

“Despite the fact that the Obama administration approved the sale of bump fire stocks on at least two occasions, the National Rifle Association is calling on the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) to immediately review whether these devices comply with federal law.  The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semi-automatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations.”

For the record, Wisconsin Gun Owners, Inc. strongly opposes the bumpstock ban and supports the federal lawsuit by Gun Owners Foundation (Gun Owners of America) to overturn the ban.

While many gun lobbies fight for “reasonable gun control,” WGO sets a higher standard: We oppose all gun control — regardless of the political party — and work tirelessly to restore the Second Amendment. WGO has angered many politicians who would like people to believe that they support gun rights — even when they vote against them. Click here to join

A shame trump sold us out. It’s not a shocking surprise but a disappointing turn of events. I wouldn’t even put it past him to ban all guns in order to get his wall built. He has shown to be a coward towards the military and gun owners.
