Colorado Shooting Exploited for Gun Control

Common Sense or Masterful Exploitation of Tragedy?

Warning: In the wake of shooting, gun grabbers renew push for Clinton-era semi-auto ban

The families of victims in the Aurora, Colorado shooting haven’t even had a chance to bury their loved ones and the anti-gun politicians and media are already exploiting the tragedy by pushing more gun control.

But gun control was the problem.

You see, the theater where the shooting took place has a NO GUNS corporate policy.

Suspected shooter James Holmes surrendered to police without a fight. Could it be that he gave up so easily because the police were armed?

The very people who could have stopped the attacker were not allowed to enter.

Of course I’m talking about people with concealed weapons permits who were prohibited from entering the property.

The end result of this backwards and immoral policy is painfully obvious.

Let me back up and say that, unlike the knee-jerk liberal media, we’ve waited to issue a statement on the Aurora shooting until we’ve had time to allow some of the facts to come to light. Our thoughts and prayers go to the families in Colorado who lost someone in that senseless act of violence.

But the fact is, the mass killing was preventable. Had someone – anyone – been carrying a concealed weapon for self-defense, we believe the outcome would have been much different.

However, instead of taking a serious look at solutions to stopping future violence (See story, Gun carrying man ends stabbing spree at Salt Lake grocery store ABC4.com 4/27/12), anti-gunners like Michael Bloomberg and the ignorant media are circling like vultures over the bodies of victims.

It makes me angry.

President Obama has issued the siren cry for a renewed ban on semi-automatics and so-called high capacity mags, saying “… AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers and not in the hands of crooks. They belong on the battlefield of war, not on the streets of our cities,” he said.

“There’s talk of new reforms. There’s talk of legislation,” the president added.

You can still make a contribution. Our successful Don’t Buy List program has already helped dozens of anti-gun businesses “feel the heat” and “see the light.”

But this program can only continue with your support.

The posting of NO GUNS signs is irresponsible and dangerous. Doing so creates a convenient NO SELF-DEFENSE ZONE that criminals love. The WGO Don’t Buy List program needs to continue, as we all know thugs target properties where no one can shoot back.

They are cowards who like easy victims.

But even more important than the Don’t Buy List is the drastic need to fortify our defenses for the coming gun control in the wake of the Colorado shooting.

Sometimes anti-gunners conceal their agenda to avoid losing votes. Not this time. They are openly stating their intentions: Ban all guns they don’t like.

These ignoramuses wouldn’t know an AK-47 from an AR-15 … from a Red Ryder BB Gun.

But one thing they are experts in is turning a tragedy into political gain.

The crown jewel is a renewed, permanent and EXPANDED Clinton-era “assault weapons” ban.

“There’s talk of legislation,” Obama says.

Believe him. They’re coming. Please make sure your WGO membership is active.
