Wisconsin is Running Out of Time: 2A Sanctuary NOW!

This past week, Wisconsin Gun Owners received assurances from Sen. Nass and the WI GOP, that 2A Sanctuary is a top priority.  Not long after that, the Assembly passed AB293 with one Democrat voting for the bill and one abstention, and the State Senate scheduled a new hearing for SB314.

Thousands of WGO members made a HUGE impact on the Wisconsin Assembly passing this bill. That is not to mention all the activist citizens and local grassroots groups that fought alongside WGO.

There is still much work ahead for WGO and its members if this bill is going to be passed by the Senate and signed into law.  Wisconsin Gun Owners, Inc. plans to redouble its efforts to turn up pressure on the Senate. Reminding politicians on both sides of the aisle that the mid-terms are just around the corner. “If these Senators want to keep their jobs, then they need to do their jobs.” says WGO Executive Director Thomas Leager.

“We need the Senate to vote yes on SB314 and for the citizens to pressure Gov. Evers into signing this bill into law.” Leager continues.

WGO is worried that time is running out.

Just two short days ago, Biden’s DOJ dropped another of its promised “rules,” this one covering stabilizing braces and standardizing red flag laws for States that want to adopt them.

Commentary to the DOJ was submitted by WGO, which you can read here.

But that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Here is a list of what we are facing on the Federal level:

2021R-05 “ghost gun rule”

2021R-08 “Stabilizing braces” and pre-written Red Flag Law

H.R.121 – Gun Violence Reduction Resources Act of 2021

H.R. 125 Gun Safety: Not Sorry Act of 2021

H.R.127 – Sabika Sheikh Firearm Licensing and Registration Act

H.R.130 – Kimberly Vaughan Firearm Safe Storage Act

H.R.167 – To prohibit the transfer of a firearm at a gun show by a person who is not a federally licensed firearms dealer.

H.R.1808/ S.736 – Assault Weapons Ban of 2021

Wisconsin is now entering the stage where the rubber meets the road for this bill. The Senate has officially solidified a public hearing for SB314, and WGO is determined to be ready!

Where and When the hearing takes place:

June 16, 2021, 12:30 PM  Room: 201 South East

SB 314 passed the Senate Committee on Labor and Regulatory Reform on June 17th.

On June 24, 2021, the Senate then concurred with AB293, rather than taking up SB314, and proceeded to do a non-recorded voice vote. the bill passed unanimously.

WGO works for grassroots gun owners, not politicians. While many gun lobbies fight for “reasonable gun control,” WGO sets a higher standard: We oppose all gun control — regardless of the political party — and work tirelessly to restore the Second Amendment. WGO has angered many politicians who would like people to believe that they support gun rights — even when they vote against them. Click here to join
