The bloated “Ominous” bill contained several gun control provisions, which President Biden happily signed into law.

To his credit, Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson (R) voted against the bill, calling it “an abomination.”

Washington, D.C. — Both political parties put their totalitarian tendencies on full display and continued their march for more gun control with the passage of the $1.7 Trillion omnibus bill to keep the government funded (aka, “watch the bankrupt gov-mint kick the can down the road and pay themselves while the country burns).

Not surprisingly, President Joe Biden signed the bill on Thursday, December 29, which enjoyed happy bipartisan support and was a welcome Christmas gift to the gun banners.

Wisconsin Gun Owners, Inc. (WGO) alerted its members that the massive spending bill contained 12 anti-gun provisions, thanks to the diligence of our friends at Gun Owners of America (GOA), who diligently poured over the details of the massive bill.

According to GOA, 18 republicans voted for the atrocity, including McConnell and Cornyn.

Of the 12 gun control items hidden in the omnibus, these are among the most egregious:

  • Massive 14.1% ATF budget increase to facilitate Biden’s Pistol ban
  • 50% increase for the ATF part of the budget that maintains the illegal near-billion record gun registry
  • $700+ million in funding available to bribe states to pass “Red Flag” GunConfiscation Laws
  • Money for anti-gun CDC research while the agency suppresses self-defense statistics

Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson (R) voted against the bill.

“The Omnibus that just passed in the Senate is an abomination,” Johnson said. “There is no way anyone had time to read all 4,155 pages, much less comprehend how the massive deficit spending and major policy elements will negatively impact Americans. This takes Washington dysfunction and cynicism to an entirely new level. We were unable to amend the bill to eliminate at least $11 billion in earmarks or preserve Title 42 as the only restriction to Biden’s open border policy. Once again, Congress easily waived the ‘Paygo’ discipline to enable massive deficit spending to continue. We are mortgaging our children’s future and a majority of the members of Congress couldn’t care less. I voted no.”
