Hands Off the Second Amendment

Petition to the U.S. Congress and Wisconsin Legislature

Be It Resolved That…

Whereas, the Bill of Rights to the U.S. Constitution enumerates the natural rights of Mankind and constitutes the conditions of a matter of contract between the States, the People, and the Federal government.

Whereas, The Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights secures the right to bear arms without restriction or hindrance by the U.S. Federal government.

Whereas, the Wisconsin Constitution Section 25 states: The people have the right to keep and bear arms for security, defense, hunting, recreation or any other lawful purpose

Whereas, any attempts to repeal, alter, or diminish the Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution—either on the State or Federal level—represent a grave and present danger to the People and their sovereignty.

Therefore, we urge all State and Federal politicians representing the People of Wisconsin to oppose any and all calls to restrict, regulate, or further infringe the right to bear arms, as it would break the conditions, spirit, and intent of the U.S. Constitution under which the 50 States joined the Union.
