Online Petition to Fix Wisconsin’s Suppressor Law

OFFICIAL PETITION TO WISCONSIN LEGISLATORS
FIX THE SUPPRESSOR LAW!

To the Governor, State Senate, and State Assembly of Wisconsin:

I, the undersigned Wisconsin citizen, urge the Wisconsin legislature to amend Wisconsin Statute §941.298 to remove the obsolete federal suppressor-registration requirement.

I respectfully demand that Wisconsin:

1. Remove the requirement that suppressor owners comply with federal NFA registration requirements that are no longer legally enforceable.
2. Ensure that law-abiding Wisconsin residents who may legally possess suppressors under federal law are not exposed to state felony prosecution
solely because they lack federal registration.
3. Bring Wisconsin’s suppressor law into conformity with current federal law and constitutional developments.
4. Protect Wisconsin gun owners from conflicting federal and state requirements.
5. Respect the rights of law-abiding citizens to possess commonly used firearm accessories without unnecessary government registration.
