Video: Paul Ryan Admits Gun Control Laws “Good”
Paul Ryan blurts out his real views on the existing unconstitutional gun laws used to persecute American gun owners. According to Ryan, we have “good, strong gun laws” that, according to him, need to not only remain on the books but be more strictly enforced!
The video above, which made the rounds on the Internet last week, was put forward by some gun groups as a supposed example of congressman Paul Ryan presenting a strong defense against further gun controls when pressed by a reporter. Ryan, who earned an F from WGO after his refusal to return a simple gun rights survey, said new laws weren’t needed.
Paul Ryan’s Views on Guns: Lipstick on a Pig Argument
Gun rights organizations clinging to Ryan’s opposition to new laws miss the bigger issue, which is that Ryan admits the existing laws — unconstitutional gun control laws infringing on the rights of gun owners — are in essence “good.” This implies those laws need to remain on the books.
The statement comes as no surprise as Ryan’s own comments exactly mirror those made for years by the National Rifle Association (NRA) — who recently endorsed Ryan in the election — namely that we don’t need new gun laws, we just simply need to enforce existing laws.
That makes for a great sound bite, but think about how transparent and utterly disastrous to the pro-gun cause it truly is.
It means we will never be able to gain back lost ground. We’ll never be able to repeal the gun control laws on the books.
It’s a way for the neoconservatives to try to appear reasonable by conceding that the existing laws on the books not only have the ability to “work” if only enforcement were ratcheted up, but that these anti-gun measures will work so well that the gun banners need not propose any more anti-gun laws.
In reality, this flimsy attempt at appeasement only legitimizes and cements in place the existing gun bans and myriad regulations: It capitulates to the anti-gunners’ assertion that gun control is acceptable.
Question: Would a Romney-Ryan administration oppose gun owner attempts to repeal existing unconstitutional gun law? Would Ryan finish the work of the original demonic drafters of these draconian-nightmare-come-true gun laws by actually implementing stronger enforcement of them?
In his own words, he said he would.
If that happens, get ready for a new wave of gun owner persecution.
Paul Ryan tried to appear pro-gun, but the argument he used accomplished the opposite of his intended effect. And proved that the neo-conservatives are still working hard to fashion the chains that bind us.
WGO believes we don’t need to enforce existing gun laws, we need to repeal them. Join and Support Wisconsin Gun Owners — we work for gun owners, not politicians.

This should surprise no-one. I will be voting for Virgil Goode of the Constitution Party.
You’re right, Corey. I also caught that line in Ryan’s response. We again face “lesser of two evils,” while Creator by whom we have been endowed remains faithful to the diligent/obedient that they should never fail. May our diligence be worthy of His grace.
ryan is another typical politician who can shake your hand with one hand while he is picking your pockets with the other. he is a typical washington boy who once he got to washington dc saw that he had the opportunity of his lifetime and turned his back on all the people who sent him there to WORK FOR US, NOT FOR HIMSELF. now he has gotten himself in such deep doodoo that he doesn’t know where to turn. certainly romney won’t help him. i’ll bet that once this election is over that will be the last time that you see the two of them together, romney will go back to his mansions and ryan will go back to trying to screw us wisconians. when will the people wake up and see how the republicans only want what is good for them
So now, Romney/Ryan is worse than Obama/Biden ? Sounds like another con by the Obama communists (people who pretend to be gun owners).
Any vote for a candidate other than Romney is a vote for Obama.
Ryan has seen his last election! What an establishment schill!
Constitution Party candidate needs great support!

If more people have gun maniac and other killers wouldn’t kill so many people!
I didn’t see Paul Ryan saying anything different than the NRAs stand…that we’ve got gun laws that are not being enforced, let’s do that first. I didn’t hear him say, “We need more gun control”, as a matter of fact he said we have a “crime” problem, posturing himself away from making anti gun statements. The last time I saw him he alluded to the idea of his obtaining his own CCW license…which doesn’t sound like a gun control type guy. So I wouldn’t interpret him that way without his being direct about it.
